I was commissioned to create a poster for the upcoming film "Devil's void". For this brief i will go over my design and thought process.
After the initial client brief and questionnaire was completed, i created a couple of concepts. The theme of the movie is based around sin and how sin pulls you in.
After client decided on moving forward with concept 2 to be the best choice. i wanted to incorporate color into the representation of the sins as they are 7 deadly sins I wanted to do something different and incorporate color into the background.
The problem I wanted to solve here is how do I create a piece that incorporates the sins without being to obvious or in your face.
Moving forward I wanted to start working on the title of the movie, I came up with different versions of the title. I also started putting color and adjusting the positions of the characters on the poster.
we both decided that concept 1 was the strongest and decided on moving forward with it.
This is the finished product I am confident I was able to properly portray what the client wanted for this project and solve the problem of how to portray sin without being to obvious.
